I also enjoyed his delivery of the jokes that he was, as he described it, 'paid not to tell'. That particular show was the first time I had ever heard 'One Tear At A Time', and I remember thinking, 'This guy is still writing great material!' I liked the live version, and I also like the 2002 Running Horse as well as the Sky Kings 1992 versions. Many say that people are more remembered for their kindness above all, and over 20 years later I remember Rusty for his nice, good-humored gesture that day. I enjoyed a Butterfinger, for the record. The venue was experiencing some sound problems, and to calm an otherwise restless audience, Rusty went to the lobby, bought _all_ the candy bars at the counter, and walked down the aisles, handing them out, one by one, to a satisfactorily appeased (and amused) audience.

One I would share is as follows:Īmong many other Poco concerts over the years, I was able to see Rusty and the boys at the Rialto Theater in Loveland, CO on 19 September 1998 - Richie was a guest for the encore. And perhaps many of us have countless stories to share from the last 50+ years. I know many of us will try to cope with this news as best possible under the circumstances, by holding on to all the positive memories.
